All initial applicants have to attend an in-person 8-hour training course that includes live fire range training and a shooting test with a passing score of 70% or better, there will also be a written exam that you have to pass 80% or better. If you're a current permit holder and you're looking to renew you are required to take a refresher course based off this new curriculum. The refresher course has to be in person and it will include a written exam with an 80% or better passing as well as a live fire range training portion with 70% or better. This refresher course is just a shortened version of the 8-hour course. My Refresher typically last 4 hours and I keep my classes small (both initial and refreshers) with around six people per class.
